Ben & Jerry's, America's iconic ice cream has created a new flavor! It's not like any other flavor, it's probably as good as the other complicated mixes they have been known for, but this one is "Dairy Free". Walking past one of their ice cream shops, a sign caught my attention. Dairy Free ice cream, everything but the cow. I had to try it!
Dairy flavor creations are made with almond milk, certified vegan, and boldly loaded with chunks and swirls. You’ll get Ben & Jerry’s euphoria in every bite. These flavors deliver everything… but the cow - like the saying goes... everything but the kitchen sink.
Inside one of their freshly baked waffle cones, which are crunchy and airy at the same time, I asked for two scoops of their new creations: "peanut butter and cookies" and "caramel almond brittle".
It looks like any chocolate ice cream: aromatic, rich almonds, creamy, enjoyably sweet, crunchy chunks. The peanut butter and cookies is vanilla based with chocolate, cookies and crunchy peanut butter swirls. The caramel option contains almonds with salted caramel swirls and pieces of almond brittle.
The two vegan Ben & Jerry’s flavors are just a few of the growing list of flavors available in stores all over the country.
Since I'm lactose intolerant Ben & Jerry's is where I'll be indulging in some rich ice cream every time I visit the U.S, until they become available worldwide.
