Google led me to this beautiful restaurant, a casual yet upscale place where music plays smoothly in the background, where the decor is simple and soothing, where the staff are relaxed yet attentive. Perfectly set tables, fine cutlery, Riedel wine glasses, Arthur Krupp cutlery, a wide selection of wines, dimmed yellow lighting and a bar decorated with a big tree. I felt good the minute I walked in.

It was my last night in Roma, I wanted a guaranteed tasty dinner, I felt like eating pasta... the experience was way better than I expected!

On the menu:

  • Hors d'oeuvres
  • Seafood hors d'œuvres
  • First courses
  • Second courses
  • Side dishes
  • Desserts

My order:

  • Burrata cheese with mustard sauce
  • Eggplant parmigiana
  • Fried shrimp and squid with ginger mayonnaise
  • Amatrices a rigatoni pasta with pork cheek, tomatoes, pecorino cheese and pepper.
  • The five tomato spaghetti with five different kinds of tomatoes.

Dinner started with a basket of fresh and aromatic bread as well as a welcome plate from the chef. Fried tempura, non oily, exceptionally tasty, intensely flavorful, lightly crispy... oranges, potatoes, carrots! A premiere for me. WOW... if all the food is as good, I'll make sure to recommend this restaurant to all my friends and give it a 5/5 on google maps.

Yummy homemade food clearly made with love and passion:

  • The fried shrimp and squid have an appetizing smell served with a yellow sauce. Perfectly fried, they crunch or melt under the teeth, best enjoyed with a squeeze of lemon. The sauce on the other hand is creamy and light adding yet more flavor to the bites.
  • Parmigiana cooked without garlic, an enjoyable acidity, layers of tender eggplant and cheese with a load of tomato sauce. I was flying from joy and not willing to leave anything on my plates.
  • Wowww... a milky burrata with sweet and sour mustard on the side! Wow! What a lovely combination! "J'adore". Salted, thinly cut toasted bread, the burrata and a bit of mustard chutney; a perfect combination. P.s. I loved the toasted bread made like chips - very thin and very crispy, intensely and enjoyably salty.

Offering typical southern Italian cuisine, the restaurant is a family business and the chef is from Ischia. Fine products are used, plates are beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is really soothing.

And then came the pasta... five tomato spaghetti, thick and cooked al dente. Cherry tomatoes of different kinds awaiting a sprinkle of parmesan to be enjoyed as they are. The amatriciana is made with rigatoni pasta, tomato sauce and crispy pork bacon fingers. I fell in love with the way the pasta had been cooked. I felt I'd come to my spiritual food home...

Dinner ended with complementary cookies and sweet puntinata. It's the details that make all the difference, especially in a restaurant where you don't expect to be offered anything for free.

Bravo! My favorite dinner during this trip. I left happy and enchanted. Please try it when you visit Rome.
