Lady M, that place I wrote about many times, this pastry place with signature offerings, has been on my to do list for so long. Who would have imagined that I'd be trying Lady M in Seoul!
Lady M has created the world's first cakes made of crepes and they're called "1000 Crepes Cakes". Imagine that you're going to be eating not one but twenty crepes one on top of the other? Not at all! This cake is unique using very thin crepes, offering a different experience from eating normal crepes.
The shop is simple; it's a counter and one single fridge accessible from the inside, two tables and a bar. More seating is on the first floor. With a big smile on my face, not believing what I just saw, I ran inside and ordered three cakes to have a complete idea of their offerings.
Cookies and cream in a cake, a cake of 20 crepes layered one on top of the other, the perfect texture and balanced taste... Wow! I thought I knew what a Mille Crepe cake was until I had the original ones. Twenty layers of crepes separated by cookie cream. You don't feel the crepes or their chewiness, it's a fully fledged cake.
Strawberry Mille Crepe! A magical creation combining the freshness of the Fraisier cake and the finesse of thinly made crepes combined one on top of the other. A light cream, light sweetness and crunchy strawberries. Juicy strawberries, rich full bodied cream and those extremely thin, close to transparent, crepes.
The chocolate one is made of 35 layers, not 20. It has a thick consistency of dark chocolate with cocoa powder on top. It's firm taking the consistency of a brownie. When you say crepe you think chewiness but those are far from being chewy. Awesome!
Lady M... Worth traveling to New York to experience. That's a foodgasm!
