Everyone is talking about it and everyone is recommending it… I was expecting something big. I was expecting to walk into something fancy with nice signboards and decoration... Instead we found ourselves in front of an old style palace-like place with an entrance that looks like a cinema… The place was fully booked; we had to wait ten minutes before being seated.

We were seated up on the first floor. It’s a black and white floor; black ceiling and a large mirror that makes the space look twice as big. Loud music plays in a place full of youngsters. You get the American fast food vibes to it - eat and leave fast! As I walked up to our table, I couldn’t help but stare at everyone's plates, which made my mouth water.

Burgers are what they do and they have eight choices on the menu; and their signature burger is their Le Ponclet Beef, which should be a blast.

Now let's eat…

The burgers are hard to crab with two hands. Each includes a super thick piece of meat and a lot of ingredients. One served with fries and the other with "salad" which turns out to be a quarter of a lettuce.

The burger is a masterpiece indeed and that is for not being the best burger in Paris for sure. Let me tell you why. The bun is chewy and sticky, the bacon is too spicy and chewy, and the onion ring is over crispy, while the piece of meat, that is very thick and is more of a piece of steak than a patty, is raw and bloody with an unpleasant chewy effect. The fries are not bad, a bit oily and sticking all together, like cake, but it was fine.

So what's the big fuss behind it? Number one? Surely not in my books!

My favorite is still Big Fernand.
