The Caroussel: The Only Michelin Starred Restaurant in Dresden Doesn’t Deserve a Star
Relais & Châteaux, The Dresdener Hotel Bülow Palais, Dresden Germany
When you’re dining in a starred restaurant enchanted by soothing music when luxury is the moto and style is the general vibe, you can’t but be amazed. I was amazed by this breakfast created to impress. I loved the seating, the table setup, the music, the decor and most importantly the choice of food.
Choices, endless choices of unimaginable things you rarely find at breakfast. On a semi-lunar shaped buffet, expect to be amazed.
The buffet choices:
- Croissant and traditional cakes
- Ten choices of tea
- Bread ready to be sliced
- Four choices of jams
- Five baskets of small bread buns
- Five choices of cold cuts
- Endless choices of yellow and white cheeses
- Dried fruits and yogurts
- Nine choices of fruits
- Six choices of cereals
- Sparkling and still water
Now for the eggs! It was the first time that I taste a hollandaise created as of it was a cake cream. A rich and perfect hollandaise, shaken and stirred into a mousse-like creation, embracing two perfectly poached eggs on a bed of fluffy muffins. The mix has an alcohol flavor, something different that caresses your nostrils as you savor it. Bravo chef!
The omelet, as good as the Benedicts, diced vegetables cooked with scrambled eggs keeping them moist and juicy. The omelet looking different than conventions ones also tastes better.
A great hotel and amazing breakfast; I was pleasantly surprised and amazed during my stay; happy to be starting this year with a smile.
