Delicious Greens To Introduce Into Your Diet

We all want to try and eat a little healthier, and a great way to do that is by eating more greens. Here are some of the best green vegetables to try.

Eating healthily isn’t always easy, but it’s integral to giving your body the nutrition and energy it needs to keep active. One positive step is introducing more delicious greens into your diet. Here are a few to include and why these nutritious options are great to put on the menu.

Kale

Kale is one of the most nutrient-dense foods available. These curly green leaves are high in vitamin A, K, C, and beta-carotene. Because kale is more nutritious when eaten raw rather than cooking it, we recommend adding these leaves into a nice salad.

Spinach

You don’t need to be a sailor man to enjoy all the practical benefits of spinach. Spinach is a healthy choice for soups, salads, and smoothies, and it’s incredibly versatile when sauteed for entrees or worked into an appetizer, such as spinach puffs.

Dandelion Greens

People often forget about dandelion greens, but these leaves are an excellent addition to any diet. Dandelion greens are a great source of potassium and a solid addition to any healthy lifestyle. Dandelion leaves are high in beta-carotene and easy to sauté with oil and serve with balsamic vinegar.

Bok Choy

Bok choy is a thick Chinese cabbage and an absolutely delicious green to introduce into your diet. The thick green parts are great for sautéing in dishes like stir fry, while the crunchier white part of the plant is good raw or cooked. Bok choy offers a balance of flavors and textures that make it nutritious, delicious, and healthy.

Kohlrabi

While the base of kohlrabi might look like a turnip, this plant is more closely related to cabbage and broccoli. Kohlrabi leaves are a great source of magnesium and calcium to promote healthier bones. It may increase metabolism and aid with weight loss, but it works best as a steady source of vitamin C.
