Mechwar w Terwi2a: A Journey Across Lebanon, One Breakfast at a Time

Discovering Lebanon’s Breakfast Traditions, Celebrating Its People, and Making Tahini the Star of the Morning

A new journey begins. A journey of flavors, traditions, villages, people, and unforgettable breakfasts. Welcome to Mechwar w Terwi2a!

Lebanon is a country where food is much more than something we eat. Food is a language, a memory, a celebration, and a reason to gather. From the mountains to the coast, from the smallest villages to the busiest cities, every table has a story to tell.

For more than a decade, I have traveled across Lebanon discovering its hidden treasures, meeting passionate people, visiting traditional kitchens, and sharing stories of hope, resilience, and happiness. Through Mechwar, Mechwar Bel Wadi, and Mechwar w Sofra, my mission has always remained the same: to show the authentic Lebanon, celebrate its people, and spread happiness through food.

Today, a new adventure joins the family.

Mechwar w Terwi2a — مشوار وترويقة.

A journey dedicated entirely to breakfast, the meal that brings families together, starts conversations, and gives every Lebanese morning its special flavor.

And this time, we are bringing along an ingredient that deserves much more attention: tahini.

The Lebanese Breakfast: More Than a Meal

There is something magical about breakfast in Lebanon.

Imagine waking up in a mountain village, where the morning air is fresh, the bakery has already been working for hours, and the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the streets.

Someone is preparing manakish. Another is warming a pot of foul. A grandmother is rolling dough in her kitchen. A small family restaurant is getting ready to welcome its first customers. The local baker knows everyone by name.

On the table, there’s labneh, fresh vegetables, olives, cheese, eggs, bread, hummus, foul, and so many other delicacies that make Lebanese breakfast one of the richest culinary traditions in the world.

But what makes breakfast special is not only what we eat.

It’s who we eat with.

It’s the stories shared around the table, the generosity of the people preparing the food, the traditions passed down from one generation to another, and the simple happiness of sitting together.

This is the Lebanon I love.

And this is the Lebanon I want to share through Mechwar w Terwi2a.

Ten Days on the Road. Twenty Breakfast Stories.

For this new adventure, we are taking the road across Lebanon for ten days of filming, discovering, cooking, tasting, and sharing.

Our mission is to create 20 episodes celebrating breakfast in all its forms.

We will travel through different regions of Lebanon, visiting villages, towns, bakeries, restaurants, traditional homes, farms, and kitchens.

Each episode will introduce new faces, new recipes, and new ways to enjoy breakfast.

We will meet the people who wake up before sunrise to prepare our daily bread. We will discover recipes that have been part of Lebanese families for generations. We will enter professional kitchens where chefs reinterpret breakfast traditions. We will sit with mothers and grandmothers who cook from the heart.

Some breakfasts will be simple. Others will be generous and elaborate. Some will be traditional, while others will surprise us with new combinations and unexpected flavors.

But every breakfast will have something in common: authenticity.

Because behind every plate is a person, and behind every person is a story worth telling.

Tahini: The Ingredient That Connects It All

At the heart of this adventure is an ingredient that has been part of our culinary heritage for generations.

Tahini.

Made from sesame seeds, tahini is one of the most versatile ingredients in Middle Eastern cuisine. Creamy, rich, nutty, and full of character, it has the ability to transform the simplest ingredients into something extraordinary.

We all know tahini as an essential component of hummus.

We love it with falafel.

We mix it with lemon to create tarator, one of the most recognizable sauces in Lebanese cuisine.

But tahini is capable of so much more.

It can be part of savory breakfasts, sweet creations, traditional recipes, modern dishes, sauces, spreads, and even drinks.

And this is precisely what we want to explore.

Our message is simple: Breakfast is not complete without tahini.

Not because every breakfast must look the same, but because tahini deserves to become an everyday ingredient, something we naturally reach for when preparing our morning meal.

Just as olive oil has its place in every Lebanese kitchen, we want to celebrate tahini as another essential part of our culinary identity.

Throughout the series, we will discover how this humble ingredient can inspire creativity, connect traditions, and bring something new to the breakfast table.

Tahinati Joins the Journey

Mechwar w Terwi2a is created in collaboration with Tahinati, a brand that shares our passion for tahini and our ambition to give this traditional ingredient the attention it deserves.

Our collaboration goes beyond featuring a product.

Together, we want to encourage people to rediscover tahini, understand its versatility, and experiment with it in their daily lives.

Through authentic storytelling, food discoveries, and conversations with passionate cooks, we aim to show that tahini is not limited to a handful of familiar dishes.

It belongs in home kitchens, bakeries, restaurants, breakfast shops, and on tables across Lebanon.

We want people to ask themselves a simple question every morning:

How can I add tahini to my breakfast today?

This is an invitation to discover, taste, experiment, and create.

From Traditional Recipes to Unexpected Discoveries

One of the most exciting parts of Mechwar w Terwi2a is the opportunity to explore breakfast without limits.

Of course, we will celebrate the classics.

Hummus topped with tahini. Foul with lemon and tahini. Fresh falafel served with creamy tarator. Warm bread dipped into flavorful sesame-based sauces.

These are familiar tastes that have shaped our mornings for generations.

But we also want to go further.

Imagine eggs served over a smooth tahini sauce, roasted cauliflower with tahini and fresh herbs, warm potatoes dressed with lemon and sesame, or toasted bread with tahini, honey, and banana.

Imagine a breakfast bowl combining yogurt, fruit, nuts, and a drizzle of tahini.

Or a Lebanese-inspired breakfast sandwich where tahini brings all the ingredients together.

There are countless possibilities.

And we want to explore them with the people who know food best: home cooks, chefs, bakers, farmers, and families.

Every episode will be an opportunity to learn something new.

Every kitchen will bring a different perspective.

And every recipe will inspire viewers to try something different at home.

Entering the Kitchens of Lebanon

Food tastes better when you understand the hands that prepare it.

That’s why Mechwar w Terwi2a will take us beyond the restaurant table.

We want to enter the kitchens.

We want to stand next to the baker preparing dough before sunrise. We want to watch a grandmother make a recipe she learned from her mother. We want to follow the chef who has spent years perfecting a signature breakfast dish.

We want to see the preparation, understand the ingredients, discover the little secrets, and experience the passion behind every creation.

Some of these kitchens will be small and traditional.

Others will be large, professional, and modern.

What matters is not the size of the kitchen, but the story behind it.

We will cook, learn, taste, laugh, and share.

Because Mechwar w Terwi2a is not about presenting perfect plates in front of a camera.

It’s about making food feel alive.

The People Make the Journey

Over the years, one thing has become clear to me.

Lebanon’s greatest treasure is its people.

The baker who starts working at three in the morning. The farmer who takes pride in his harvest. The mother who prepares breakfast for her family every day. The restaurant owner who welcomes customers as if they were guests in his home.

These are the people who give our country its identity.

Through Mechwar w Terwi2a, we want to give them a voice.

We want to celebrate their work, preserve their memories, and share their passion with audiences in Lebanon and around the world.

Some of our encounters will be planned. Others will happen spontaneously, as they always do during a Mechwar.

Because the most beautiful stories are often the ones you never expected to find.

Bringing Tahini Back Into Everyday Conversations

There’s another important mission behind this project.

We want to make tahini more visible.

We want to see it used in more recipes, featured in more breakfast menus, and discovered by people who may have never considered its full potential.

Our journey will take us into shops, bakeries, breakfast restaurants, and professional kitchens, encouraging creativity around this traditional ingredient.

We want chefs to experiment.

We want families to rediscover recipes.

We want young people to become curious.

And we want the next generation to appreciate an ingredient that belongs to our region’s food heritage.

It’s about building a movement around an authentic flavor.

One breakfast at a time.

A Road Trip With a Bigger Purpose

Ten days.

Twenty episodes.

Countless encounters.

And one delicious mission.

Mechwar w Terwi2a is more than a television-style food series or a collection of breakfast discoveries.

It’s a celebration of Lebanese mornings.

It’s an invitation to reconnect with the foods we grew up eating and the people who continue to preserve our traditions.

It’s also an opportunity to imagine the future of breakfast by combining heritage with creativity.

We are not looking for the most expensive breakfast or the most sophisticated presentation.

We are looking for real flavors, genuine hospitality, memorable encounters, and stories that deserve to be shared.

From humble village kitchens to innovative restaurants, every stop will contribute to a bigger story about Lebanon and its remarkable food culture.

And through it all, tahini will be our traveling companion.

Food Brings Us Together

At NoGarlicNoOnions, our philosophy has always been rooted in one simple belief:

Le2metna Btejma3na — Food Unites Us.

A meal can create friendships, bridge generations, connect communities, and preserve memories.

Breakfast does all of this in a particularly beautiful way.

It is the beginning of the day. A moment of togetherness before life becomes busy. An opportunity to sit, talk, share, and enjoy the simplest pleasures.

And that’s what makes Mechwar w Terwi2a special.

We are setting out to discover Lebanon through its breakfasts, its kitchens, and its people.

We are bringing new attention to tahini, celebrating an ingredient deeply connected to our culinary heritage, and inspiring everyone to become more creative with breakfast.

Most importantly, we are continuing a journey that began many years ago: telling the positive stories of Lebanon, celebrating those who work with passion, and spreading happiness through food.

A new morning. A new village. A new table. A new story.

And always, a new reason to smile.

Welcome to Mechwar w Terwi2a — مشوار وترويقة.

Because breakfast is not complete without tahini.
