Located on the fourth floor of Aishti in downtown Beirut, People is one of my favorite eateries for its class, simplicity and casual feel. I like the place, simply made of leather chairs and sofas. I enjoy the calmness and the view on Beirut’s roofs. Visiting on a late afternoon, I was craving a dessert.
Camel-colored leather chairs, one long sofa following al the windows and facing the bar. Space is well lit making every food picture unique.
These desserts are not like any dessert; they are unique, exceptional, extravagant... loaded with emotions and life. I don’t remember having something as good in Lebanon to date!
Millefeuille à la Vanille Bourbon: OMG... it’s orgasmic! Airy layers of puff pastry, three thick sheets with vanilla cream stuffed in between. A gourmet Millefeuille, Michelin starred chef create.
Éclair au chocolat, Chantilly, sauce chocolat: This creation is marvelous! A crunchy toasted eclair filled with chocolate cream and topped with another cream of vanilla and awaiting to be drizzled with warm chocolate. Feel the crunch, the creaminess of the heart, the smoothness of the crown and the awesomeness of the dark chocolate. It’s so yummy, so good, so majestic... it made me smile.
Tarte banane caramélisée, crème vanille: indescribable emotions struck me... this cake is fabulous! The thin crunchy crust, the light cream, the ripe bananas, the caramel sauce... a perfect balance that tickles your senses, pushing you to scream.
