World Diabetes Day: Spread Awareness

According to IDF Diabetes, "By 2040, over 640 million of us may be living with diabetes." That's a scary number...

Today, November 14 is known as World Diabetes Day, an internationally recognized day and an official United Nations Day. Why today? November 14th is a significant date; especially in the diabetes calendar as it marks the birthday of the man who co-discovered insulin, Frederick Banting. Banting discovered insulin in 1922, alongside Charles Best.

World Diabetes Day, on the 14th November has grown from humble beginnings to become a globally-celebrated event to increase awareness about diabetes. Comprising hundreds of campaigns, activities, screenings, lecture, meetings and more, World Diabetes Day is proving internationally effective in spreading the message about diabetes and raising awareness for the condition.

Wear blue, stay healthy, create awareness...
