Located inside the Pullman hotel of Berlin, Blend is a trendy restaurant, decorated with style and serving lunch between twelve and two. Sit and relax, enjoy the modern decor while you wait for long minutes before anyone cares to approach you. Very slow service awaits. Choose from three starters, four main dishes, two desserts as well as the four classics. They do have the “Beyond” meat on the menu.
Tarte flambée, pork ribs, rice noodles, and pork belly, poke bowl with sole chanterelles, Cesar salad, beef filet, veggie burger...
Wait for another fifteen minutes for your drinks to be delivered then comes the bread. A basket loaded with bread, mini baguettes and bread balls with a wide of whipped butter and sea salt. A bit hard, a bit chewy but tender enough to start your meal. I would have preferred it warmer and crunchier.
I started with a slice of pain de Campagne bread topped with thick slices of aged German cheese, shredded mushroom tartar, a spread of cream and fresh arugula. I loved the bread, enjoyed the cheese, and appreciated the idea of serving a sandwich as an appetizer. My wife had the chicken Caesar salad, fresh light green lettuce, excellent sauce, and very tender chicken; yummy!
We waited more for our kids main dishes to arrive... service is really bad, slow and unorganized.
Excellent food! Taking Poke to another level, turned into a gourmet plate, wife with fish and oyster mushrooms mixed in their sauce. Yummy indeed! Tarte flambée, thin and crunchy like a biscuit. Big chunks of pork belly on top of a bed of flavorful noodles.
Tasting my kids burgers, I wished if I ordered them myself; juicy thick and airy beef, not condensed or pressed like a kebab. The bread, loaded with sesame, of fresh and tender. Have the fries, thick fries covered with salt and cooked to perfection.
Slow service but excellent food! I’m happy to have come here.
