Staying at The Rosewood, you can choose to have breakfast in one of the hotel’s two restaurants. The casual English style Holborn or the classy upscale -kind of fine- dining Mirror Room. Located on the other side of this magnificent big hotel, the mirror room is completely covered with mirrors on the sides and ceiling. With two private dining rooms, big relaxing chesterfield couches made with yellow leather, black wood tables, soft carpets and a special corner dedicated to tea.

“Welcome sir, are you having breakfast with us this morning?”. With a wide smile on his face, he explained that upon the availability of tables, you can have breakfast in the mirror room, which is usually dedicated to the suites customers. He insisted we stay without giving us the feeling of being pushed away. I was very happy and glad we did so; a memorable experience I’ll recommend to everyone staying at the rosewood.

Breakfast is served a la carte every morning. Choose one of three choices: the English, the continental, and the healthy. We had the known plate of eggs, sausages, and bacon. A bowl of açaí and one of a thick, crunchy toast with avocado and two poached eggs. I loved yesterday’s breakfast at the Holborn, but this one is way different, upscale, and tastes better.

I have to compare things; I’m not sure if the chefs will like it. The sausage is softer, tastier, less spicy, and smoother in the palate. The eggs are creamy, moist and full of taste. The bacon, oh my goodness, that bacon. Yesterday are chewy, today’s in the mirror room are maple syrup grilled, soft, and beautifully textured.

Let’s talk about the croissant: what a croissant! So soft and fresh that a knife couldn’t cut. Flaky on the outside extremely buttery, super-duper flavorful and classy. It’s a vitamin for the soul. Açaí, a beautiful masterpiece of colors made with fresh frozen açaí. Acidic is drizzle a bit of honey on top to perfect every bite.

PS: butter, different from the one at The Holborn, is as good. Are all kinds of butter great in London, or is it this hôtel in particular. Thicker and heavier than French butter sprinkled with salt; I loved them!

Served by a skilled Spanish guy, a professional smiley waited, he acts as if he knows you for an eternity helping with the order and explaining the journey.

Let’s talk about the avocado on toast; thick the way I like it, the pain de Campagne bread is toasted to perfection, hosting a chunk of ripe avocados, two poached eggs and two tomato quarters. Refined and upscale, a delicious sandwich needing only a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

A wished time would stop: I loved the music, the relaxing sofas, the positive vibes, and delicious food. A great way to start your day; breakfast at seven gave me the energy to kick off an amazing and fruitful day ahead.
