For me, breakfast is the most important part of a trip: I travel to have breakfast, choose my hotels accordingly and make it a point to try eggs Benedict all around the world. This time, it was not possible until this particular moment; Spending a week with the family in Madrid, we chose an Airbnb home which doesn’t have breakfast -obviously. At a walking distance, I discovered a newly opened hotel serving delicious dinner and my favorite eggs Benedict to date.
Breakfast is served at Lobo8 as of 7 am. A buffet breakfast accompanied by a selection of freshly prepared dishes. The kitchen can be seen from the restaurant, passionate chefs working hard behind the glass. Last night’s dinner was outstanding, today’s breakfast was out-of-this-world!
Oh my goodness... is this real?! I ask myself. I’ve had eggs Benedict, and believe me, I’ve had hundreds around the world, but this one... OMG! Real English muffins hosting watery poached eggs, topped with Iberian ham, covered with sauce hollandaise and drizzled with truffle oil. Surreal, this plate is surreal... a very tender English muffin, superb fresh eggs, a beautifully textured ham, and that Hollandaise; a super duper intense hollandaise, strongly acidic, enjoyably creamy and strongly flavorful. Two thumbs up chef for making my day. You know when you eat something and feel like your brain is going to explode... when you eat that same thing and feel your eyes closing uncontrollably... when you start moaning forgetting that you are in a public space... today I’ve experienced foodgasm in the best way possible. Exceptionally superb, this is surely one of the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever tasted.
Tasty pancakes, three of them, prepared in a classy way and served with whipped cream and maple syrup. I also tried the churros served with a huge cup of chocolate sauce for you to indulge in.
Smoked salmon, croissants, Nutella cruffins, brioche bread, yogurt... everything I ate this morning was delicious and memorable. A luxurious hotel, a superb restaurant, and staff that has been trained to impress.
I’m happy to be one of the first to come here; the restaurant had one single photo on google maps, and now more than two hundred can inform guests about my memorable experience. I would surely recommend this place to al my friends visiting Madrid.
