I woke up at 6, walked around Istanbul to fly my drone then searching for a place to have breakfast. I wanted something cosmopolitan, fun and trendy at the same time: Mangerie popped up. Located in Bebek, on the terrace of a building where Nusr-Et restaurant is, take the stairs to reach the terrace. Facing the canal and the Asian side of Turkey, sit relax and enjoy.
Jazz music playing in the background, glass facades, wooden floor painted in white... mirrors, books, leather sofas, a casual bar and open kitchen. Positive vibes you need on an early morning.
Mangerie serves all-day breakfast alongside bruschetta, focaccia, sandwiches, noodles, salads, meat mains, and burgers.
Grab your internet password and let yourself go! Americano coffee, a double espresso for my wife with a basket of bread to open up your appetite.
Yummy food! Yummy international food with a touch of freshness and finesse. I loved the hollandaise, the crunchy fresh pain de Campagne, quality of salmon, and excellence of the hollandaise sauce.
Menemen is a Turkish specialty made of scrambled eggs, tomatoes, extra cheese crumbles and peppers served on tomato bread pain de Mie. It’s indeed so good! Fresh, flavorful... it tickles your taste buds, it caresses your nostrils, it draws a smile on the face.
I loved the pancakes, thick fluffy pancakes with a heart of warm Nutella. The pancakes come with a bowl of fruits on the side.
PS: if only waiters smiled! What is it with you people of Istanbul. None, yes... none of the fifteen restaurants’ waiters I’ve met this week smiled or welcomed professionally.
A recommended place for your intercontinental breakfast in Istanbul: visit Mangerie.
