Two forks, two knives, delicate crystal water glasses and customized wine glasses set on ironed white table cloth... that’s not the setup you’re used to at your neighborhood Trattoria. Hand-painted walls, collectors plates decorate the walls and mirrors make the ceiling look bright and high. Designed the old fashioned way, Tre Marchetti restaurant is your typical Veronese experience in the heart of the city of Romeo and Juliet.
Open the menu, and feel the excitement. Pasta, risotto and innovative creations like the cold leaves risotto, duck ragout pasta and many more. Complicated but interesting, I wished to order everything! My personal order was the Maccheroni with duck sauce and the risotto with Amarone and squash with 22 carats gold.
You have to know that the restaurant has all the Michelin Guide recommendations since 2007; 13 years of great food and service, recommended by the concierges of luxurious hotels around the area.
The way wine bottles are opened, the explanations, the service, and attention, everything adds to making your experience unique and one-of-a-kind. Until the food arrived...
Generously loaded plates but not the taste I was dreaming of. Salads look cheap served without sauce and made with shredded vegetables. Tomatoes stem is not cleaned. The risotto is too sweet for a main dish and the tortellini carbonara made of one huge piece of pasta is too salty to be swallowed. All this decor, the vibes, the singer and class, spoiled in less than a second. Let’s wait and see the taste of my main dish. “Service is slow when the restaurant is busy.”
So disappointing! Way below expectations! A lack of taste, a lack of salt, an excess of sweetness, and a wrong balance of textures. Even the lobster is overcooked.
