“The 101 Best Hotels in Germany” Ranking Revealed

Three Kempinski Hotels among the First Ten – Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin Ranked Third and Best City Hotel

Three luxury hotels of the international hotel group Kempinski Hotels have made it into the top ten in today’s published ranking “The 101 best hotels in Germany”. While Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin is delighted with an excellent third place with the addition of “best city hotel”, Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich and Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden occupy the pleasing ninth and tenth places. As the only hotel ranking in Germany, the new list presents the best of more than 11,000 hotels on a scientific basis, taking a combination of objective quality standards and individually perceived customer satisfaction into consideration.

“We are very pleased that, according to the new ranking, three of our prestigious hotels made it to the top ten addresses in the German hotel industry,” said Martin R. Smura, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Kempinski Hotels, on the occasion of the publication of the rankings. “The extremely positive guest reviews on the Internet are a huge motivation for all our talented employees to give their best at all times and to provide each and every guest with a unique experience for the duration of their stay in one of our hotels.”

Under the leadership of the Institute for Service- and Leadership Excellence, the new ranking was launched by four renowned partners with academic expertise and in-depth knowledge of the industry: IUBH International University, Handelsblatt, ahgz Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung and CKR Hospitality Consulting. The ranking, which will from now on be published annually, orders and categorises the German hotel landscape according to measurable, relevant and meaningful criteria. It is based on the statistical evaluation of public ratings of booking portals, such as Booking.com, and expert assessments, such as the Gold List by Condé Nast Traveller. This part is carried out by the experts of the IUBH university at a professorial level. While further criteria include service, communication, keeping the promise of a stay and experiences before and after the visit, the best hotels are finally tested. The IUBH calculates the overall index from the equally-weighted average of all three evaluation areas.
