Some things in life are worth driving a distance for... One such thing being Burger Bros in Jbeil. The minute I stepped into the place I felt good. The energy is amazing, the colors are appealing, with an open kitchen in a fresh looking space... everything made me feel that I was about to indulge in something delicious. Owned by two brothers, hence the name, who have been working here for a year now preparing one burger at a time...you can see the dedication and taste the passion in every bite.
Located on Byblos' internal road facing the port entrance, Burger Bros. serves 16 different burgers, a slider, two sandwiches and two desserts. Open the door and be welcomed by an open kitchen. Metal and utensils, a wall made of stone and another covered with black metal, a design space spread on two floors. It's the old snack bar format but with touches of modernism.
On the menu choose one of sixteen items. The Basic, the Ultimate 5 Hours, the Shape Up (without a bun), the Hail Cesar and many others. Good to know before you start: soft drinks, cheddar cheese and French fries can be refilled for free! On top of that the food is exquisite!
- Awesome burgers! Beautifully presented on big wooden boards, the burger itself is thick and generous. The bun is from Prunelle, the sauces are homemade, and the burger is a juicy piece of meat that actually tastes like a burger and not like kafta, melted cheese... and an overall feel of lightness. Alone the meat is enjoyable, then added to that its spices and how the cheese melts over it - sheer joy. This meat has a certain shine, an adequate quantity of fat, the proper texture and plenty of flavor.
- Saving the best for last, the "5 Hours": shredded roast beef, fresh onions, pickles, fresh mushrooms, chip flakes and cheddar cheese. It's a killer! The softness of the bun, the juiciness of the meat, the light crunch of the mushrooms and onions, the melted cheese... two thumbs up for such a creation!
- I loved the fries, thinly sliced and fried to perfection, mixed with spices and served with hot cheddar cheese.
End your experience with one of their two mousse desserts.
I honestly didn't expect to be amazed... The Burger Bros. is a place I recommend, a restaurant I'll visit at least once a month for sure.
