Breakfast at Fauchon L’Hotel: Awesome Food and Service
Fauchon L’Hotel: A Luxurious Boutique Hôtel in the Heart of Paris
The pastry shop, the hotel, and the Grand Cafe, Fauchon is an institution in the heart of Paris promoting French culinary culture and savoir-faire. Next, to the hotel, the Grand Cafe proposés a selection of food from the terroir; the menu isn’t divided in a conventional manner, so it’s up to you to order one, two or three plates.
The same colors follow you around: pink, black and white. Black tables, pink neon lights, white limoge plates and fine glass cups from Riedel. Golden balls, pending from the ceiling blend with the wall design looking like a beehive.
On the menu: four sections, Vegetables, fish, meat and desserts. Lunch starts with fresh bread and Fauchon olive oil.
Good service and good food... I enjoyed my time: A green risotto with ruffles from burgundy. Blocks of smoked salmon. Artichoke and truffle feuilleté. Autumn salad. My risotto has an intense salty flavor, tender rice, a creamy and gooey sauce... I loved the food! I also enjoyed the service that can be considered upscale for a cafe.
Poultry, ravioli, meat and foie gras, the plates look great! Fine-dining quality with plates decorated like masterpieces. Ravioli of langoustine with black Chinese tea leaves a refreshing flavor in the mouth. The chicken is so tender and balanced. The meat is adequately cooked with a red heart. The foie gras is phenomenal!
I loved it all, quality of famous chefs, small plates more of culinary experiences than fulfilling dishes.
Best for last, never leave without having a dessert; the red mousse lips, the intensely dark chocolate cube, the baba au rhum in a cup and the unconventional millefeuille. Probably a brand name, when brands are not considered sexy anymore giving space to local artisans to shine, but Fauchon managed to remain and shine. Excellent from start to end!
I was a fan of the brand’s products, now the cafe and hotel, I believe they have a new ambassador.
