Roadster Diner - There was a time where if I didn't go there at least once a week, something was wrong. The same goes for my friends. We are a group of eight people; each one of us knew what they wanted and ordered the exact same thing each time. The same waiter, manager, hostess would welcome us and by the time we sat down, our usual order of nachos with extra cheese was served... It was a place we would all meet - a second home to all of us.

Something went wrong. I don't know what but I think I have an idea out of experience.

In a word: the staff have become careless. I understand that people get promoted or there should be a kind of rotation system, but at least train the new waiters to deliver their regulars with the experience they are used to, without any changes - at the end of the day it should a Roadster Diner experience and not just that of the waiter. Recently at their Citymall diner, the waiters have been a bit sloppy with the word 'No' automatically ready to be uttered. Especially after the new menu came out... it seemed like a new attitude came with it. Some of our favorite dishes were removed with no prior notice. And when we would order certain items, they would automatically say that they ran out of it. At 8pm? Every time?

A simple example: On my last visit, I ordered their light grilled chicken platter. I asked for extra side mushrooms instead of corn on the cob. The immediate answer was "no, we can't do that..." I was surprised. I mean I didn't ask for much change. I then told him that I have ordered the same platter from their Le Mall branch in Horche Tabet. They don't deliver but since we are neighbors, they always kindly did. But the waiter had to argue and tell me that they don't deliver from  their Le Mall diner. Am I lying? After a few minutes and a lost appetite, he said ok. My platter comes with one piece of mushroom, while the waiter apologizes that he dropped the rest on his way to my table... Is that acceptable? Wasn't he supposed to go back  with the plate, add some mushrooms then come back? He said ok he will get me mushrooms on the side. Half way through my meal... the same waiter comes with a bowl that held exactly three mushrooms. Is that the extra mushrooms I had asked for? At least put it in a smaller plate that will not really show how sad the whole thing looked. I was shocked to be extremely honest with you... and I don't want to go to Roadster any time soon, at least not to that branch...

I don't want to see one of my favorite places become a part of my hate list.

I only asked for mushrooms... charge me more if you must... but don't argue, give and take for an hour if you can give it to me or not, and definitely don't bring a plate with items that have fallen off along the way between the kitchen and my table and tell me about it...

I am not here to tell you how to do your job, but something is wrong... and I think you take care of it and PRONTO!
